Tony Award nominees Emily Skinner, Stephanie J. Block, and Max Von Essen are among the stars who will be singing old-school style—without electronic amplification—in the 2017 edition of Broadway Unplugged at New York’s Town Hall May 1.

The 8 PM concert will feature a variety of contemporary talent, including Tony honoree Ben Davis, Olivier Award winner Lesli Margherita, Olivier Award nominee Kyle Scatliffe, plus Paramour star Jeremy Kushnier, cabaret star Klea Blackhurst, Maxine Linehan, and Willian Michals—with more promised.

Series producer, writer, and host Scott Siegel told Playbill, “One of the pleasures about casting this concert is that everyone, if they are free, wants to be in this show. And they enjoy it so much that they come back to it whenever they can. For instance, Stephanie J. Block was in the very first Broadway Unplugged [in 2004]. Others, like Lesli Margherita, will be making their Broadway Unplugged debut. I think one of the appeals for these stars is that this is an opportunity for them to fully control their own performances; it isn't controlled by the person at the soundboard. It's an exciting opportunity for them and they make it doubly exciting for the audience.”
